Individual Adult Therapy
Whether this is your first experience with therapy or just the most recent, I offer an engaged, collaborative approach to treatment. I am an active participant in the therapeutic process, bringing clinical experience, curiosity, and thoughtful feedback to our work together. In addition to developing insight, we will work in a focused way to identify patterns, clarify goals, and implement meaningful change.
I specialize in working with adults who are navigating:
- Anxiety, depression, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm
- Life transitions / adjustment-related concerns (career changes, menopause, divorce, parenting shifts, relocation, chronic illness)
- Grief, trauma, and unresolved past experiences
- Challenging relationship patterns
- Identity exploration
- Self-concept, creativity blocks, and challenges with self-expression
- LGBTQIA+ identities, non-traditional relationships, and diverse identity experiences
Child and Adolescent Therapy*
Because children and adolescents are not simply smaller versions of adults, their concerns require an understanding of psychological and emotional development, as well as thoughtful involvement of caregivers in the therapeutic process.
I provide individual treatment for children and adolescents within a family therapy context, including frequent consultation and coaching with parents.
*(At this time, my practice has availability for adult clients. Availability for child and adolescent therapy is limited.)
Parenting Consultation and Coaching:
Parenting is a difficult role, even when things are going well. When a child is struggling emotionally or psychologically, the experience can become overwhelming.
As a parent, you are in a unique position to support your child by examining your own responses, reactions, and assumptions about their difficulties. Within the context of your individual family system, I partner with you to better understand what is happening and to develop more effective ways of responding.
Parent coaching may be helpful if you are navigating your child’s:
- Anxious and/or avoidant behaviors
- Behavioral concerns
- Emotional dysregulation
- Challenges with young adult children
- Difficult family dynamics
- Grief and loss
- Life transitions
Art Therapy
Sometimes words are not adequate to fully capture or communicate our experiences. The use of art in therapy can help clients express and visualize what may be difficult to access through language alone.
I incorporate art in therapy to both assess and treat children, adolescents, and adults, when clinically appropriate. No art skill or talent is required to benefit from the use of art media in therapy.
